Elite Company – Player Code of Conduct

Last updated: 03/01/26

At Elite Company Basketball, basketball is more than just training. It’s about building confidence, connection, community, and character - on and off the court.

This Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for players and families attending our weekly training sessions. By enrolling in the Academy, all players and parents agree to uphold the standards below.

Our Values

  • Growth over ego

  • Skills before systems

  • Everyone belongs

Player Expectations

All Elite Company players are expected to:

Respect the Game & Each Other

  • Treat coaches, teammates, parents, referees, and facilities with respect

  • Use positive language and behaviour at all times

  • Listen when coaches are speaking and follow instructions

Bring Effort & Energy

  • Give full effort in every drill and activity

  • Stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn

  • Understand that improvement comes from effort, not comparison

Be Coachable

  • Accept feedback with a positive attitude

  • Try new skills, even when they feel challenging

  • Ask questions and be open to learning

Train With Integrity

  • Play fair and support teammates

  • Celebrate effort and improvement

  • Take responsibility for actions on and off the court

Represent Elite Company

  • Wear appropriate training gear

  • Treat equipment and facilities with care

  • Remember that behaviour reflects the Elite Company community

Parent & Caregiver Expectations

We ask parents and caregivers to:

  • Support a development-focused environment built on confidence and enjoyment

  • Encourage effort, learning, and teamwork over winning or comparison

  • Allow coaches to coach without sideline interference

  • Communicate respectfully with staff, players, and other families

  • Ensure players arrive on time, prepared, and ready to train

Behaviour & Accountability

Elite Company takes a teaching-first approach to behaviour.

If expectations are not met:

  1. A reminder and conversation will take place

  2. A player may be asked to sit out part of a session

  3. Ongoing concerns may lead to a parent meeting or temporary suspension

Our priority is always growth, learning, and a positive environment for all players.

Our Commitment to Families

Elite Company coaches are committed to:

  • Providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment

  • Maintaining small coach-to-player ratios

  • Prioritising skill development, confidence, and connection

  • Treating every player with fairness, care, and respect
